Alina Calderón
Born in Alajuela, Costa Rica, Alina Calderón began her piano studies at age nine with Dr. Tamara Sklioutovskaia. Currently a student of Dr. Alexandr Sklioutovsky and M.M. Ludmila Melzer in the Instituto Superior de Artes, since 1997 she has also been studying in the School of Music of the Universidad Nacional, where she received her Bachelor of Music, with an emphasis in Teaching and Piano.
Ms. Calderón has taken master classes with fellow Costa Rican Dr. Jacques Sagot of Rice University in Houston, Ana Maria Trenchi Bottazi of the Pinault School of Music, New York, Drs. Stephen Perry and Donna Lee of the Interlochen Arts Academy, and Dr. Acardy Aronov of The Juilliard School.
Ms. Calderón already boasts a solid career, having played more than fifty concerts and recitals in her native Costa Rica and throughout the world.
